My photographic practice is primarily concerned with documenting my immediate environment and through my images and broader research, I try to make sense of this world. Most recently my focus has been exploring the complex situation revolving around the divide between the Catholic and Protestant communities within the Central Belt of Scotland and latterly Northern Ireland. Within this divide I belonged to neither side, but it has been ever-present in my life growing up in Central Scotland and something I have always wanted to explore further. This first part of this ongoing project, entitled ‘Loyal’ primarily explores the Protestant community.
